Coaching Staff












Head Coach  - Jaci Gruhn

Coach Jaci is a 1997 graduate of Olympia High School.  While at Olympia she was a 3 year member of the OHS Drill Team, serving on Leadership her Senior year.  After graduation, she went on to become a WSDDJA/WOA Dance Drill Judge from 1997-2010.   Jaci also coached Olympia Drill for 2 years serving as Assistant Coach in 2002-03 and Head Coach in 2003-04. In 2008 she was selected as the WOA Official of the Year for Spirit.  In 2009 Jaci joined the Capital Cougarettes coaching staff as Assistant Coach and Choreographer.  Coach Jaci helped lead the Cougarettes to 10 straight years of District Championships (2010-Present) and 4 State Championship Titles, 2010 3A Pom State Champions, 2014 2A Pom State Champions, 2016 Military State Champions and 2019 Pom State Champions.  She was also voted the 2014 1A/2A/3A Coach of Year.  Jaci also serves as the District 8 Representative and Executive board member of the National Dance Coaches Association.  













Assistant Coach - Sung Ja Albright


Coach Sung Ja grew up in CO and started dancing at the age of 4, training in jazz, ballet, tap, and hip hop, as well as doing competitive gymnastics.   She cheered and danced both in high school and college. She started coaching and teaching classes at 18 for various high schools and dance studios and owned her own all-star cheerleading gym. She has been coaching and choreographing dance in WA for the last 8 years, serving as head coach for La Center HS and Black Hills HS before joining the staff at Capital, as well as teaching dance at South Bay Dance Company.  She currently serves as one of the new coach coordinators for the WSDDCA.
